We’re a day away from celebrating Shrove Tuesday, which is the last day before Lent begins. Pancakes became especially popular for Shrove Tuesday as a way to use up both the supply of eggs and fat that a family might have stored away, since it was traditional to abstain from consuming both during the forty days of Lent.
